5 Ingredient Ground Beef

Equipment

  • 1 Large Skillet with Lid
  • 1 Wooden Spoon

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground Beef
  • 1 tbsp Ground Cumin
  • 1 tbsp Ground Oregano
  • 1 can Diced Tomatoes (Original or Spicy)
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  • Heat a large skillet over medium/high heat and add olive oil. Season one side of the meat with half of the cumin and oregano.
  • Add the ground beef to the skillet seasoned side down. Season the other side with the remaining cumin and oregano.
  • Break up the meat into small chunks and continue to cook until brown (about 5 minutes). Add in the can of tomatoes stirring occasionally until it comes to a boil (about 5 minutes). *Option here to test a spoonful of the juice to see if it needs more seasoning or salt.
  • Lower heat and cover with a well fitting lid. Cook covered for another 5 minutes.

Notes

Serve with rice, on a tortilla, or on your favorite salad!
